Former Yankees "cant miss prospect" and No. 1 overall pick from the 1991 draft, Brien Taylor was arrested in North Carolina after undercover cops allegedly bought large amounts of crack and cocaine from him.
Taylor was so highly touted when he came out of high school, he received a $1.55 million signing bonus, a record at the time. In fact, he was so highly touted that one night in the early 90's, The Mouth waited three hours in the parking lot of a Minor League stadium in Florida to get an autograph as "the next big thing" boarded his team bus.
But Taylor's career went down the tubes Shorty after, when he severely injured his shoulder defending his brother in a bar fight in North Carolina in December 1993. His name became synonymous with the term "bust," as he was living with his mother by 2006. He is just one of two No. 1 overall Draft picks to never make it to the Majors. The other was 1966's top pick Steve Chilcott.
