Crazy homer-robbing Minor League catch

Check out the video of an amazing catch to rob a home run by Jiwan James of the Double-A Reading Phillies. During the third inning of Reading’s 4-2 loss to the Bowie Baysox (Orioles affiliate) on Saturday, James climbed the wall Spiderman-style, and it appeared he was about to catch the ball with his the glove on his left hand. However, the 6'4" center fielder lost his glove over the wall, but somehow he ended up coming down on his back with the ball in his right hand to rob Bowie's Jonathan Schoop of a homer.

James Tweeted that his phone "blew up" after he went to bed because SportsCenter made his catch the No. 1 play of the night. He said he would have to stay up a little watch later to watch it again.

James, who ranks as the 19th best prospect in the Phils' farm system according to's list, was originally drafted in the 22nd round of the 2007 Draft as a pitcher. He made the transition to the outfield back in 2009 after injuring his right arm. He is a switch hitter, and has a .254 average with six homers and 26 RBIs in 82 games this season.
