Missy Franklin picks Cal as future college

Olympic darling Missy Franklin, who garnered lots of attention over the summer when she won four gold medals and one bronze medal at the London 2012 Games, hit Twitter on Saturday night to announce that she had committed to Cal Berkley as her future college.

The 17-year-old California native went with the Golden Bears over the Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns. With the Cal's football squad suffering a 21-3 loss to rival Stanford on Saturday to fall to 3-5 on the season, Missy's announcement must have been welcome news on campus in Berkley.
