In commemoration of Roger Federer's unprecedented 287 week streak as the world's number one tennis player, Nike released a $287 sneaker called the Zoom Vapor Roger Federer 287 on Monday.
The $287 price tag is more that the $250 price of the LeBron 9s, which had been the most expensive Nikes so far this year. They also costs more that the original $245 price of Kanye West's Air Yeezy 2s and the $220 original price of the Galaxy Foamposites, both of which are re-selling for much more now.
The reason for the Zoom Vapor Roger Federer 287's hefty price tag? A limited production of just 287 pairs. Also each shoe is individually numbered and they come in a custom box with a certificate of authenticity signed by Federer himself.
They sold out within minutes of Nike tweeting out a link to buy them. Expect them to be popping up on eBay for even more money soon.
