On Monday the New York Yankees aquired Seattle Mariners outfielder Ichiro Suzuki for a bag of doughnuts. Well actually it was for D.J. Mitchell and Danny Farquhar, close enough. Ichiro is a 10-time All-Star, 10-time Gold Glove winner, 2000 AL MVP, and owns a career batting average of .322. David Stern would veto this trade if he were MLB commish!
Ichiro hit 8th in the batting order and went 1-4 with a single a stolen base while donning his new No. 31 jersey as the Yankees topped the Mariners, 4-1, in his debut.
