Nets to host Knicks in Barclays Center opener

The battle for New York will start one night after the 2012-2013 NBA season tips off as the Nets open their new home, The Barclays Center, against the Knicks on November 1st in Brooklyn.

The real questions is what kind of feel will be in the building have? Will be the place be over taken by Knicks fans? Let be honest, while the Nets were playing to in front of an empty house in Newark and East Rutherford over the past few years, the Knicks have been selling out the Garden with ease, with one of the most loyal fan bases in the NBA. Whenever the Knicks would play at the Prudential Center in Newark, the place would be 70 percent Knicks fans. How will that translate to the Barclays Center? Will Spike Lee be sitting courtside in a Knicks jersey? Will Knicks fans that live in Brooklyn remain loyal or will they jump ship now that they have a team in there borough? All questions that will be answered in the future. The only thing we know with certainty at this point is that Nets partial owner Jay-Z is indeed Camel Joe.
