Elderly Couple Married At Blue Jays Game

Ken Carson, a day-one employee and former trainer for the Blue Jays married his fiancé Lillian Simmons yesterday at the Rogers Centre before the Blue Jays game against the New York Yankees. The guest reception was held in one of the luxury boxes at the stadium

The two newlyweds will now be able to enjoy their golden years together in Florida where the currently live. I predict years of wedded AARP bliss for these two love birds.

Getting married on lime green carpet near the 3rd base coaches box doesn't seem terribly romantic to me, but who am I to say anything. At least they knew it wasn't going to get rained out.

The Blue Jay celebrated the nuptials by losing to the Yankees 5-3.

I've known Ken Carson for 11 years. Believe me he isn't elderly, nor is his new wife. He's a scratch golfer and he and Lillian are more active than most 30ish sportswriters I know.

I am close friends with the Carsons and attended the wedding. Let me tell you, they are anything but "elderly". They both could run circles around the author of this article. Also it WAS a very romantic ceremony and moving event. I think there is some jealousy showing here. Yes, who exactly are you to comment?

This guy is an idiot. Thanks Tim for your kind words. Does he not think its possible for people our age to be in love? We are very much in love and dont need some jealous writer to make fun of us. Does he pull chairs out from little old ladies? He is very very rude. He must be some kind of a loser who can't get a date and is taking it out on us. Does his mother know what he does for a living?

I am family of Ken's son and He is still part of the Blue Jays organization as a Senior Advisor as far as I know and has been there since the beginning. You obviously don't do your homework as he is highly respected. You can fall in love at any age and yes Ken he is an idiot looking for attention any way he can get it. Congrats to you both and a very classy move by the Blue Jays and MLB for all the hard work you've done over the years and continue to do. Now go and have fun you young couple and don't give this guy any more of your time. Some people just love sports.

Not sure if you all knew this but Ken Carson was a movie star:

At the age of most sportsbloggers writing in their boxer shorts down in their grandma's basement, Ken Carson had won the Stanley cup and was on his way to two world series rings for Toronto. I'll stack up the achievemnts of fifty of you drunkin bloggostypes to just a year or two of Ken's achievements. Time for you blog jerks to fade to black and not risk being charged with hate speech.

By the way,all of you elderly folks out there, set up a trust to bypass your 30 something proginy. Why? Just because you have the assets and your down line dirtbags have no class.

Ken, you probably thought the Internet was just a fad too! You still using a typewriter? Class? Didn't Charlie Sheen throw out the first pitch at the Blue Jays game last night? You Canadians are so lame. Go burn your city down after you lose another Stanley Cup to a US team. They funny thing is this post isn't even negative?

Next time a US team wins a Stanley Cup TigerWoods Yo count how many Canadians are on it.

Jeter2 that YouTube link made me laugh. Ken, do you have any other family members than can add a comment? Like a hot great, great grand daughter? Maybe send pics over to these guys for a Mug Shots?

Last 2 Stanley Cup MVP's were Americans. A Canadian team has not won a cup in 20 years, and the poor people of Toronto has not won a cup since 1964 (these guys were probably in their 50's in 1964). Again, go burn your city down. I LOVE how the author pissed a few Canadians of bc of the word "elderly". Can you guys not waste your time with these bitterly old people and hook up another Kate Upton post?
