Believe it or not, this upcoming season marks LeBron James' 10th season in the NBA already. There had been much anticipation to what the LeBron's tenth anniversary shoe would look like when the Heat hit the hardcort to defend their championship this fall. Well LeBron gave sneakerheads and Heat fans a sneak peak on Sunday when he busted out his Lebron X's for the first time in a 19 point, 7 rebound, 4 assist performance as Team USA topped Spain 107-100 to win the Gold Medal in London.
Nike says the shoe “is constructed for dynamic containment, impact protection, and responsiveness to assist one of the game’s most explosive players.”
The LeBron X is the first signature basketball shoe featuring Nike+ Basketball technology, which measures how high a player jumps. It also features a full-legnth visible Nike Zoom unit, dynamic Flywire technology and Hyperfuse construction.
One thing to note about the LeBron X's is that on the side of the left shoe, the Swoosh is backwards. This is a look that Nike has done before. Back in the mid-90's, the Air Darwins, which were worn by Dennis Rodman featured the same backwards Swoosh. The look was replicated again this year, when Air Darwin 360 came out. It looks like the LeBron X's could have been loosely based on them.
Expect a black, white and red Heat colorway of the LeBron X's to hit stores this fall.
