Thursday night at Turner Field the first 20,000 fans through the gates got a free Chipper Jones bobblehead when the Braves took on the Padres. Jones didn't disappoint on his big night either, as he connected on two homers, bringing his career hit total to 2,700 on the second one. He also passed Hall of Famer Dave Winfield for 32nd place on the all-time home run list. It was the first multi-homer game of the season for the third baseman, who now has 466 career homers.
Jones finished the night 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs as the Braves blanked San Diego, 6-0, on a complete game
Life seems pretty good right now for Jones, who is hitting .315 with 12 homers and 53 RBIs this season. He only has 44 more games left until he can kick his feet up and enjoy the rest of his life as a retired 40-year-old.
Apparently the Chipper Jones bobblehead was on Santa’s wish list
