Roger Clemens Sharp in Return to the mound
Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 12:11AM
Roger Clemens pitched 3.1 scoreless inning for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the independent Atlantic League on Saturday night. The 50-year-old Clemens stat line was a very good one, 3.1 innings, H, 2K, 0 BB. Clemens threw 61 pitches, 37 for strikes and 24 balls. The Rockets fastball topped out at 88 MPH. Clemens stuck out former major leaguer Joey Gathright to begin the game. The Kansas City Royals and the Houston Astros had scouts at the game to watch Clemens. Clemens was back on the mound for the first time in five years as he last pitched for the New York Yankees in 2007. One can only hope for the Rockets return to the Yankees solely for the purpose of hearing Yankees radio announcer Suzyn Waldman's take on the return.
