On Tuesday night the Detroit Tigers shortstop Jhonny Peralta grounded out to New York Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez for the 5-3 put out to make the second out in the top of the 6th inning. Yankees first baseman Mark Texeira started the around the horn that ensues after an infield ground out, with the ball finally making its way back to Chavez. While the Yankee infielders were throwing the ball around, home plate umpire Bob Davidson had already provided Yankee pitcher Cody Epply with a new ball. Chavez not knowing that Epply already had a new ball, fires a strike that directly hits Epply straight on the forehead. The New York Yankees YES Network broadcasters seemed to get a chuckle out of it.
