Check out the video above as Reds first baseman cuts off a throw to the plate and then makes an amazing backhanded, and dare we say it -- Jeter-esque flip to Brandon Phillips at first for the second out in the top of the fifth inning of Cincinnati’s 5-3 win over the Pirates on Tuesday night at Great American Ballpark. Great heads-up play by Votto along with great hustle by Phillips to get over and cover the bag at first. Phillips also had a big night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a solo homer and an RBI double. Votto went 0-for-3 on the night. With the Cardinals loss on Tuesday, the Reds increased their NL Central lead to 10 1/2 games. Their Magic Number for the division is now just 10 games.
