Check out this super-creative idea by the Mavs, who sent "Little Dirk" on a trip from ground level to a height of 94,630 feet from the earth. Three cameras made the trip into space along with the bobblehead, which will be signed by Dirk and auctioned off. The winner of the auction will also get to meet Dirk at center court of a Mavs game.
The flight lasted 106 minutes and the bobblehead reached a maximum altitude of of 94,630 feet, which is almost 18 miles high. The bobblehead traveled nearly 35 miles from ground to touchdown with and averaged a 1,140 foot per minute ascent rate. The Mavs also posted a behind the scenes video that details the process, which can be seen below.
You've got to give it up to Mark Cuban and his marketing team for always coming up with new ideas to entertain fans. They're literally taking it to new heights.
