Former Yankees center fielder Bernie Williams busted out his guitar for a good cause when he hosted the 11th annual Hillside Food Outrach "Speak Out Against Hunger" gala on Saturday in Danbury, Conn.
The five-time All-Star hit the stage with 12-time Grammy Award winner Paul Simon to perform "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" from the legendary singer/song-writer's 1972 self-titled album.
After rocking the house, Simon pledged $25,000 to Hillside Food Outreach.
Very classy gesture by Simon and a great job by the always-smooth Williams. In fact, he's so smooth, I was waiting for Suzyn Waldman's bra to hit him in the face while he was strumming on that guitar. Never happened. No word on if she was in the crowd crying or not.
