McCutchen's mom sings anthem, he homers

Talk about a good night for the Cutch family. Andrew McCutchen's mother, Petrina, performed the national anthem prior to Wednesday night's Pirates-Marlins matchup. Then her three-time All-Star son went out and hit his 16th homer of the year in the fourth inning. He later added a single and finished the night 1-3 with a walk.

McCutchen's Bucs won the game, 4-2, to notch their fourth straight victory. With the win, Pittsburgh improved to 69-44 on the year and their .611 winning percentage is the best in the Majors entering play on Thursday.

Um, his stocking hat is still a hat right? Just because it's "the hat before the hat" doesn't mean he shouldn't take that off too. 'Merica! Show it some respect McCutchen.

Hello, it's not a stocking hat or a "hat" of any kind. If any ballplayer is respectful, it's Andrew McCutchen. He was raised right and his mother sang the National Anthem. Do you think his mother would permit any disrespect? If you're looking for a ballplayer to criticize, there are zillions out there, but none of them play for the Pirates.
